white LED flashing at start-up

Hello,

I just got the card and I’m not sure how to get started.
when I connect the power supply the white diode flashes directly and the fan does not rotate (it is connected, of course).
I tried to burn the rescue sd but even by long pressing on the power supply and connecting the usb-c then, nothing happens, the diode flashes all the time, and no display on the screen nor fan.

could you help me?

@vlotho Hello, Which board you have and which firmware you used ?

@Frank it is a vim3 pro bought on amazon and received last Thursday.

no one could help me?

whatever the manipulation that I do, the white LED flashes all the time.
I took this supply : https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00YC1TGC6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I tried to connect a uart usb cable, but to no avail, the card heats up.
I couldn’t communicate with the card.
I just unplugged all to check if it was still working, the white LED is still flashing.

I do not understand

@vlotho It’s normal that the white LED flashing . If you use HDMI, you must use an external power supply.

@Frank no, even without hdmi, the led still flashes.

@vlotho White flashing indicates normal operation of the system, independent of HDMI

Have you tried reversing UART TX and RX connections?

@Frank @RDFTKV
however, I waited well and nothing changed.
I tried to test with ssh and by http but without response.
even if it is a very light system, the state of the system should be seen on the leds !!!
yes I tried I did not have a prompt at work, even by reversing the pins.
moreover, the fan does not start when it is connected to its connector.
and even to use the image rescue, I tried all the manipulations, without results.

I’m not sure what should happen in normal operation …

@vlotho Did you used external power ?

@Frank
I took this supply : https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00YC1TGC6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@vlotho Does HDMI have any output ? Can you use serial tools ?

@Franck no, no display on hdmi.
what do you call serial tools?

@vlotho I mean this

@Frank does it work with a windows host system?.
the card should be powered?

@vlotho yes.it work with windows,but if you use windows. Maybe you need to install putty tools.Do you want to take a video or some pictures ? I’d like to see the status of the light, your wiring, and the status of the display.

@Frank for the video :

with the vcc on pin 20, it is the same result but the led is off.

No more ideas ? :roll_eyes:

@Frank wouldn’t there be tension tests to perform? with the multimeter?

@vlotho Hello, the Baud rate is 115200 . And short press the reset key after you connect you serical debug tool
