As @aljazzair stated, I believe the M2X is designed to wrap under the bottom of the VIM3. Only way its connectors are accessible.
Some pictures for visual reference are here. There is a picture or video somewhere showing the two mated, but have not found as yet, when I do I will post back.
It might work with the case, if you leave the bottom section off. I need to order one to see for myself. 
Here is picture with the VIM3 mated to M2X, though I believe the picture shows the VIM3 upside down to show M2X.
