I have performed the 11xxx series TP2 update to 1.2 XMOS firmware and MCU update. As a result in a 384/24 PCM test file the noise disappears. As for the rest, it is not perceptible.

This fails on a Debian Buster install:

Edit It worked on another Debian Buster install, sorry for the noise.

Hi,

Just to confirm, to verify if successfully updated just check Dashboard for revision?

Yes, “Revision” v1.20 is firmware version. Looks good.

Do you have a Windows PC that you can use to check? Just install the Windows dashboard to see what XMOS code version your Tone2 Pro shipped with. You’re probably already at v1.2.

On Mac, System Information shows the version number:

Oh I wish I checked that before I did all the updates lol. But everything went fine and it says v1.20 now. My serial number is starting like 11xxx so I think mine was 1.00 before the update but I didn’t check it first :frowning: .

Guys this is my first dac/amp unit and I am loving this, I am using it with schiit heresy on my desktop and as a portable solution with my ipad pro. The one thing that bugs my mind is, it gets a little hotter than I expected. I don’t know it is normal or not because I don’t have experiences with different dac/amp products.

This forum is really helpfull, thanks guys.

Cool. Yeah…running warm is normal for this DAC. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it.

Yes that’s normal, the XMOS processor produces a lot of heat and it is thermally mated to the aluminum shell which acts as a heatsink.

If I only update xmos to v1.2, but I did’T update MCU, after that, I update to v1.3, also , I did’T update MCU due to the reason of I don’T have the st link v2, after the update, I found in gain mode only have low gain and per amp, without high gain, The volumn control for the per amp also not working

You can order a free ST Link v2 tool from Khadas Shop: https://www.khadas.com/product-page/st-link-v2-hardware-tool

please see the attachment for the order information of my st link v2.
Since my address is in Hong Kong, Can you help to arrange to use SF express to my Hong Kong address?
For my current situation, I didn’t install the MCU, it will affect to the gain output? Now I can see only low gain and Per amp light, High gain light is missing, per amp volume control also not function yet.
Please share your email address to me.
