Hello guys,
I do a lot of ‘unproffesional’ gaming on my VIM3 and need to attach a 3.5 mm headphone jack to hear audio any way to do so ?
Thanks, But is there nothing possible that can be done with the GPIO on board ?
I suppose I didn’t come across directly, but I saw such an option
SPDIF is on the GPIO, the VIM3 has no analog audio IC or analog output. I read something about I2S for audio, see Gouwa’s post below. I think it was used to drive an audio IC. Still need an amp though.
There are small Bluetooth headphone amps with 3.5mm, I recall seeing a positively-reviewed model for about $20USD.
Otherwise, as Vladimir v.v. posted, a USB soundcard might be the simplest solution.
Yes, wired headphones are a thing of the past, of course, bluetooth is gaining more and more popularity
Yes, you can check How to connect I2S DAC for the reference.
It’s Line OUT from the refernce, but it’s same with 3.5mm headphone jack.
It’s I2S
That explains why I could not find the info.
I will correct the post to reflect I2S.
