How to change TS050 Touch Screen resolution and rotate or change orientation in VIM3?

you need to to use Fenix to build a new modded image, If @Frank can assist me in doing so, I could help build a new image for you

OMG! that would be really great. Thanks. Also, https://docs.khadas.com/edge/ConnectLcd.html#4-1-6-Configure-Timing these are for Edge but I’m using VIM3. Will it differ so much?

no, don’t use that, maybe use it for reference but I wouldn’t suggest that as a replacement

Okay, so lets just wait for @Frank to help.

if the timings were wrong other users would also have complained, Plus there are demos by khadas team showing it working in landscape mode… Could you try with android and see if landscape mode is working…?

There is no doubt that landscape mode is possible, the question is how do we get it working in Linux ?

Hi @Archangel1235 , I haven’t tried it for android but I couldn’t find any demos showing the touchscreen working in Landscape mode with “Linux” in VIM3. Can you please share the link of the demo? Anyways, if its possible please tell me how to do it as i have selected the landscape mode only in the image shown above in the post but it didn’t trigger the rotation, neither any other option triggers any kind of rotation.

they have shown landscape demo in android only…

changing the timings might not help…

@Archangel1235 Yes, they have shown for Android only. Can you please help me do to exactly the same for Linux too.

Thanks.

can you test with android once…?

turns out screen rotation does not work with normal HDMI monitor too

Also the post for rpi states that 90 degree and 270 degree rotation require additional gpu memory…

https://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Video_mode_options

It might be that screen rotation is not possible without proper gpu drivers

@Archangel1235
Ohh, So, does VIM3 has any GPU or GPU drivers? I don’t think so. Any clue how to rotate it then?

I don’t think its possible without them…

I tried apt install arandr It just shows other options greyed out…

Or it might be possible by editing env.txt in boot folder… Khadas team should tell us the right command for rotation @numbqq @Frank ?

@CodeLogist Hello. Just mainline gnome images can do it . It can’t be do in kernel 4.9

@Frank so which linux OS image should I install for this feature of rotation to be active in VIM3? Is their any link available?

Is their any EMMC installation available rather than using SD card?

no ready made emmc version

only sd version
