Forum Activities for Linux Mainline Support?

I tried looking for linux-vim1 in lib/firmware but not present. How do you mean I install firmware and complete the setup?

Update: I booted lxqt and it worked fine but still not able to find wifi.

I don’t know if ArchLinux has a standard firmware package for ARM. You can take from the official site of Linux firmware and copy them manually, or collect the package and install it.

This helped with wifi driver but only after force installing it, as it have many conflict of existing files.

Looks like most drivers are already present in the updated kernel…
Can we just have the wifi driver in this firmware?

I tried removing all the other drivers which are not required for kvim1. Just kept ap62xx folders and build package and tried to install it and it didnt make the wifi work.

Can you advice which files are needed only for wifi? So i can build firmware with it and upload it to manjaro repo so it will add this package during the build process, i have tested most of the things everything seems to work fine.

Video playback is taking cpu resource, no gpu hardware drivers for aml s905x?
Using lxqt youtube lags alot as i tested it looks like cpu is running on 100% power during that time, please advice on gpu decoding too.

Thanks

You are confusing drivers\kernel modules and firmware files.

/lib/firmvare/brcm

For Armbian (Ubuntu) there is a special script that installs precompiled elements and gets HW with full screen video up to 4K. I don’t know if there’s anything like that in ArchLinux.

WIll compile this now and try it on the newly MATE built I am testing.

I can only see brcm directory. No bcm
I can see ap6212 in brcm

In Armbian
/lib/firmware/brcm

Great building it now. Next I have to look for Full HW GPU support.

EDIT: There were conflict in brcm file also. So I removed the conflicting files and making a package so can be used in the built process.

I removed the conflicting files from this folder and now the wifi works fine with the updated firmware but after the reboot the bluetooth stopped working and wifi started working.

No files were removed, Only new brcm files were installed using your firmware.
