Yes, and I sometimes do. But the operator gets his own fan too, so the sweating is minimized, but not eliminated.
ye, but well hope this summer is not as hot… i hope. lol
But as @RDFTKV says is good for weight reduction as im fat as hell LOL
Hehe, but we live in different parts of the world, we will be susceptible to a whole different gradient of heat, but summer is almost over for us, so enjoy yours ,
Good day!
hehe true
anyway back to the “topic” ye he should get some heatsinks
No it’s got the transparent case the original that came with it I don’t think it’s that I’m starting to think i need to connect the heatsink and fan but I’ve had this working for ages with know problems at all but read things saying that android box or android tv box do reboot and restart on there own but I’ve done a factory reset and I’ve changed the power cable I haven’t cha
the vim2 It’s not that hot at all I’m thinking of changing the plug because it’s a 2 amp plug
They do, often due to power issues. I have experienced this myself several times and on different devices.
5 volts with 2 amps should be adequate(not counting connected USB devices) but…
Power supplies may not always provide the required volts and/or amps, even if they are marked and rated for the same.
Sometimes power supplies degrade over time. As with all electronics, what worked yesterday may not work today. Just because a power supply has worked in the past, it cannot be ruled out as a suspect.
I thought you stated you had already tried different power supplies of sufficient volts and amps. I also thought you had already tried a different USB-A to USB-C cable.
I’ve got a iPhone plug I’m going to use this see if this works but if it’s not that I haven’t a clue but it’s been running very good in the transparent case but I’ve got all the parts heatsink and fan but I’ve never used it because it’s been running very well it doesn’t get that hot at all I’m hoping one of you can help me get this fix but I’m bit worried it could be something to do with the vim2 because it’s quite old now
Nothing lasts forever, but we should rule out every possibility we can before a hardware fault can be considered.
It’s definitely not the plug it’s not working the vim2 so it’s not the power source
If power is not an issue, then try to reflash the firmware using the methods previously discussed.
Also, install heatsink, you can remove it later if it does not help. Though I would leave it on.
Someone in the forum as said that it could be the image that needs upgrade but I can’t remember the one that’s on here now that you help us install it on the vim2 but how would I know what version I’ve got on here
I would just use the latest firmware available, regardless of what is on it now.
For the Mac, the Krescue method will probably be easiest .
What is the latest version now I’m going to try and do this through virtualbox on my mac
I would use the latest Nougat from here…
Keep in mind, superceleron’s custom ROM is better in many ways.
Could you go through it in detail for us because I can’t remember how I done it I’m going to try doing this on my Mac using virtualbox do you think this will work or bootcamp I know this will work I’ve got Ubuntu on my Mac but I haven’t got a clue the Windows way looks much more straight forward than Ubuntu way
I do not have much experience with virtualbox so I cannot guide you on that. If I recall, the last time you used Windows running from Bootcamp. As you now have Ubuntu on there, I would use the Ubuntu to make a Krescue card and use the card to flash firmware on your VIM2.
If you don’t want to try Krescue, and if you want to flash using USB to PC, for non-Linux users, Windows will be easier.
I haven’t a clue how to do it on Ubuntu I know you have to this using terminal in Ubuntu I’m going to try and do it using virtualbox with windows on it get the burning tool hopefully it should work I don’t know much about krescue
Good luck with the Windows in Virtualbox. Keep us posted.
Even if you are successful in flashing with Virtualbox, you may benefit in the future from reading up on Krescue, several videos also provided for example.
