Which system do you use? Android, Ubuntu, OOWOW or others?
Described problem showed up with several armbian versions.
Which version of system do you use? Please provide the version of the system here:
I had the problems with :
Armbian_25.2.3_Khadas-vim1s_bookworm_legacy_5.15.137_minimal.oowow.img installed on eMMC and then on SD
Armbian_24.8.1_Khadas-vim1s_bookworm_legacy_5.15.137-homeassistant_minimal.oowow.img on eMMC
Please describe your issue below:
Weird thing : I used the VIM1S with several OS (all armbian though) and all finished the same way.
It was used as a home assistant server, then a klipper/moonraker interface for a 3D printer.
In both cases, after some weeks of use, after a reboot (in general using shutdown -r now
through ssh) the SBC does not boot anymore and nothing can be done:
- black screen on hdmi port
- not found on the network (nmap, ping, ssh).
- OOWOW runs well with function+reset
- dump from emmc works, I could get images to an USB stick each time to get my data back. Image mounts and is readable.
- writing this dumped image again on eMMC or SD wont bring it back: same behavior, it will not boot and shows a black screen only.
- if I install a fresh image of armbian it boots and works fine again… until next corruption.
I supposed it may come from a corruption of eMMC, so I:
- wiped the SPI
- installed armbian on the SD card
- changed power supply
- tried different screens (though it is not found on the network when it fails).
- as usual it worked some time with many reboots and one day it stopped working.
- LED is as usual, solid white
- with SPI wiped function+reboot does nothing, as expected
- OOWOW on the SD card runs fine.
Post a console log of your issue below:
A TTL/USB interface is on its way to see if I can see something through serial console.
Any idea?
I still have several failed images backups that I can open
