I experience serious issues with running the internal wifi mdule as a hotspot at system start.
50% chance that ap mode starts correctly, but then, for some reason, ap mode quits, leaving the wifi card in an undefined state (not working anymore). Is this known?
If not, I will try to gather the log info, which, with current dhd flooding the console with messages, it a bit tricky considering the applications log is in there as well. You may need our help interpreting it, which we could do offline/per pm

Setting up a WLAN connection is dynamic. When no wlan connections has been configured, Volumio starts wifi in AP-mode (IP 192.168.211.1).
Once a WLAN connection is made, the hotspot is terminated.
Sometimes this works (see log in the next post).
In this case AP-Mode does start, but then after a few moments, it suddenly ends with a fatal, see timestamp [ 57.628157@0].

Setting up wifi is part of the Volumio internal code I’m not that familiar with.
I’ll add it as soon as I have it…
I guess you could use a normal hostapd setup for this, start it and wait to see it crash after some tijmeVolumio runs a service “hostapd.service” and “dnsmasq.service”
You also need to install “hostapd” and “dnsmasq”

OK, just to emphasize once more, this Debian based installation works on all our platforms (arm/x86), including khadas vim3l (kernel 4.9 and 6.1). Even with unsupported vim1, vim2 and vim3 (all 4.9)
