Volume control by external microcontroller

Hi,

I am interested in using the Khadas Tone board in a DIY DAC.
I would like to hook up the Tone board with an Arduino to control volume when using SPDIF input.
Question:
-Is it possible to use the DAC hardware volume control? (through e.g. I2C)
-If so, is there documentation about how to communicate with the board.
A bit less important, but also desirable:
-Are other features like muting & filter settings available through board pins as well?

Regards,

Augustine

YES,I2C is OK,XMOS can control volume by I2C,USB HID control ways is under developing.
