VIM3 Pro + M2X Extender Board + SSD

I thought it was clear that I was referring to an SDD that’s connected via M.2, as I mentioned the extender board. However, let me clarify my question: Has anyone actually gotten the VIM3 Pro to boot from an SSD connected via M.2?

I think specific configuration for uboot has to be made to make it work.

Do you think booting from SSD will be faster than EMMC? When I can, I always try to run operating system from EMMC.

NVMe is faster than eMMC.

I’d like to know how too.

Hello, did you guys found the way to do it?

yes me too, i have M.2 SSD extneder board with samsung 960pro
i want to boot it from there

will there one day a special case built for this complete VIM ?

a Case that houses the VIM3Pro+M2X Extenderboard?
I will buy instantly … please KHADAS make a case for this beauty

I also cant work out how to boot from the M.2 slot - cant seem to get the POE Nic seen also although its happily powering the system

what is your current OS?

Current os is ubuntu 4.9
Thanks @Vladimir.v.v

Check the connection pins on the SSD board

Everything is seated fine, only see one physical interface and the wifi.
Is there a special module or kernel option that needs to be enabled.

I have an EVO NVMe but to be honest its the second 10/100 nic i need, i can await getting the NVMe online.

accidentally not USB 3.0?
exclude USB3.0 to check your nvme

its in pcie mode so should be USB2

root@Khadas:/home/khadas# cat /sys/class/mcu/usb_pcie_switch_mode

@Gouwa any idea’s? (Greetings from the U.K)

Hi guys! I was presented with such an M2 drive XPG GAMMIX S5 PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Solid State Drive. It works great with an expansion board. It did not start up on Superceleron v.3 firmware but it works fine with Superceleron v.5 firmware normal debug!!!IM.2 2280 Solid State Drive

I combined the device memory and disk memory, now I have 280 GB of space in my system! My Asphalt9 is very satisfied! Here are screenshots of speed tests.

Good health to everyone and do not get sick !!!:smiley::smiley::smiley::bomb::comet:
