Vim3 not booting

Hi all,

I installed Ubuntu latest image on emmc using windows pc,witch finished successfully. and it seems there is some issue with emmc from my understanding of linux boot logs.
moreover i tried to clone image from another vim3 we have using krescue, but result are the same.

i didn’t try other OS as my other vim3 pro is booting from this image with no problem

Hyphop only wants to understand, on this vim, only this OS has a problem, or problems with other OS also take place.

Are you familiar with a tool like Krescue?

I used Krescue to clone images,i did clone from “good” vim3 pro to “bad” vim 3 pro,but result are the same.
I didn’t see any option in Krescue menu for “online image instalation”.

  1. u can make broken clone for example some trash sd card can have same issue
  2. plz write last version krescue from there https://dl.khadas.com/Firmware/Krescue/dump/
  3. insert ethernet cable to VIM board => image_write_to emmc => download => check_online_images => download => write image => reboot

Hyphop, what is the algorithm for installing the OS through Krescue, is it just installing the OS, or does it include fast emmc formatting in this process?

What issues do you think the eMMC have? Can you boot into the ubuntu command line?
I didn’t see the eMMC errors.

I don’t know if this is normal, I’m no expert in linux.
i cant log in to ubuntu command line, its just halt on the last line in the log that i posted every time.

Which image you use? Have you tried other images? How you supply the power?

using the ethernet cable i cant get it to connect to the internet .
running krescue shell -> ifconfig shows only “lo” and “usb” interfaces are avilable, but no eth0.

I’m using Ubuntu server latest ,i didn’t try other images
using original power supply and cable from khadas.

its very strange plz!! show me more info from booted krescue

  2. check boot source >

NOTE: if your VIM usb cable connected to working machine - u can use usb-ethernet for krescue ssh connection

ok ! reboot device start krescue and install any os! (u can predownload images https://dl.khadas.com/Firmware/Krescue/images/ to sd )
for example try ! openwrt or coreelec its not heavy :wink: for test your device again!
