VIM1 Ubuntu bionic 4.9 driver for TUSB3410?

Using VIM1_Ubuntu-xfce-bionic_Linux-4.9_arm64_EMMC_V20181030 and cannot get Texas Instruments usb-uart TUSB3410 recognized. Is it possible to include that driver into the eMMC image?

I have tried to install
apt-get install linux-image-extra-virtual
in a hope top fix the problem, but this install failed (see below)
