Does the CPU of the VIM4 support hardware accelerated AES (AES-NI)?
Can’t see it mentioned anywhere in the specs so I assume not, which is a shame as the Pi doesn’t do it either making it a rather glaring omission in the age of encryption.

Page 4 of the data sheet here indicates AES is on board the chip
AES-NI is Intel’s thing. VIM4 since based on A311D2 supports ARMv8 Crypto Extensions.
@birty @tkaiser thanks guys!!! Ah right didn’t know that about AES-NI good to know! Looks like OpenSSL supports the arm crypto extensions though which is what I need. Thanks!!!
