Hello, I’m new here. I just bought my first Khadas VIM 1S. I turned it on and the Khadas logo appears on the first screen. On the second screen, the Khadas logo appears smaller and shifted to the left, and the rest of the screen is completely black. It doesn’t go away.
The LED stays on red and sometimes it lights up bright white and flashes and then goes back to red.
Is there a problem with my board?
Hi @there,
Which system you used? Could you take a photo or video about this?
Regards,
Nick
I can’t. When I try to attach the video, this message appears: “Sorry, new users cannot upload attachments.”

Hi @lelo.mmp,
What’s the resolution of your screen?
Do you have a change to setup the serial debug console and provide the full boot logs to us?

Hello, I managed to solve it. It was really a resolution problem.
Now another problem has appeared. When I start the system with the monitor connected to the Khadas, the image appears opaque, without colors. Now when I turn on the system with the monitor disconnected from the Khadas and after about 30 seconds I connect the monitor, the colors appear vivid and with good brightness.
What could be happening?
See this link for the video and the prints I took at each moment.
Hello @lelo.mmp
Could you provide the full kernel log to us?
- Log1: With HDMI connect and bootup
- Log2: With HDMI disconnected and bootup then connect the HDMI screen
Could you also check with latest image vim1s-ubuntu-24.04-xfce-linux-5.15-fenix-1.7.4-250423
?
How do I get these logs?
It can’t be the Linux version, because the same thing happened with Android 11 and with OOWOW itself.
Hello @lelo.mmp
You can login and provide the output of dmesg
.
So you mean oowow and Android also have the color issue? Have you checked other screen?
exactly, no matter the operating system, the behavior is the same
Hello @lelo.mmp
And also provide the below information to us for two situations:
cat /sys/class/display/vinfo
cat /sys/class/drm/card0/state
Is this information available through the Ubuntu terminal?
Hi @lelo.mmp,
Yes, please provide to us:
- Connect HDMI bootup
- Disconnect HDMI bootup and connect HDMI
Regards,
Nick
follow the logs requested in the link below:
Hello @lelo.mmp
About the log of disconnected, do you connect the HDMI screen after the system bootup?
Tips: You can upload file size less then 4MB dirrectly.
That’s right, click the power on button, wait 30 seconds and then connect the HDMI cable
Any news on the subject?
Hello @lelo.mmp
We are checking this issue and try to reproduce on our side.
But we can’t reproduce this issue on our side, do you have same issue with other screen?
no, only on this screen, but I have 20 units of this screen and they all show the same behavior.
