i have around 50 khadas vim3 and vim3l together with the sunfounder 10.1 inch displays in use as smarthome displays.

After around 1.5-2 years, the USB is now suddenly defective (currently about 10 units). What could be the problem?

Hello, this might be due to the USB HUB chip wearing out over time. The VIM3 now offers a V15 version of the motherboard that addresses this issue, or you could simply replace the USB HUB chip with model FE8.1.
