[UnOfficial OS] Home Assistant OS - Khadas Vim1

Hello and welcome to the forum,

There are 2 solution to this.

  1. Erase android from emmc.
  2. Flash hass os image on emmc.

In both the solution device will auto boot into hass after power outage.

I am using it on sdcard since a year just because of laziness. I will soon have to flash it on emmc to make it safe as I expect sdcard to die soon.

The system have booted.
I don’t think there is wifi firmware so wifi might not work. The error on screen is for Bluetooth.
Plug in lan and connect to the ip address and port number from another computers browser

You would see hass page on your browser.

Good luck.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for you answer.

Issue 1: I will do so

Issue 2: I forgot to mention that I already connected the board (plug in lan) to my box (router). I am able to see the board on my network (IP is properly assigned through DNS) but I am not able to connect via the browser using http://myIP:8123 and http://homeassistant.local:8123/ (when I ping the IP from my computer the connection seems fine). Strange thing is that I am able to access my raspberrpi via the browser that is why I am suspecting I am doing something wrong with Khadas board. I tried several times rebooting and reinstalling but I always end up with the same issue.

network

Any clue in which way I should investigate ?

Thanks,

BR

Julien

For the first time you need to wait for around 20 mins for the container to be pulled and get setup.

If you’re not connected to internet on this network then maybe it’s stuck on pulling container.

Please have high speed internet on this network for the first time…

The thing is that I am sure the network is properly connected to the internet. I succeeded installing HA on my Raspberry which is working the same way (burn SD on computer, insert SD on the board connected to the network with internet, start/wait installation, login via browser, etc). I really don’t understand why it is not working with Khadas board. I am really stuck and start thinking the board has an issue but I know by experience that issue is most of the time coming from the user and not from the hardware/software . I don’t know what to try.

Someone who could help me please ?

I will try it on my vim1 and see if there is any issue in the image.

I will follow up on this soon.

Hello

I am using Vim1 - V14 and booted fine
Log here : http://ix.io/4iWG

Now I am waiting for the supervisor to start which can take upto 20-30 mins

Please plug-in hdmi monitor during first boot to see what hass-os is doing.

I see that supervisor is failing to start.

Supervisor Logs: http://ix.io/4iWT

Good Luck.

Update:

After a reboot it was fixed.

Please connect HDMI screen to the device and check the supervisor logs and network interface ip

hello, i have a vim1 pro. I try boot from sdcard with haos_khadas-vim1-7.0.dev20210919 but without success. is it possible that this image work only with vim1 basic ?

No, It should work.
The only difference between basic and pro is the eMMC size and wifi module.

Can you provide a bootlog for the same?

Without logs it is difficult to understand what is failing.

I’m sorry I don’t explain the issue. With HA 7.0.dev image, the vim1 boot but stop and restart without end (apologise my poor english). But with HA 5.13 it’s work fine.

I switch with another sdcard. I try balena etcher to burn image. But no results.

Ah ok,

Can you share what OS is inside the eMMC ?

I’ve installed armbian 6.0.13-meson64 #22.11.2

(already thank you for your help)

Unfortunately the docker version is to old for HA. HA complains about Docker because its below V 20. Its V19. So how can i upgrade docker to get rid of the error message and get HA working?

Thanks for the update.

I will prepare a new image soon…

I will check with ha team about this.
