Unable to use mouse click after a while in Ubuntu Focal

Hi all.
I’m having this issue that after a while of working with the VIM3 in Ubuntu Focal the mouse clicks stop working.
Keyboard still works, mouse pointer still works. But it doesn’t register mouse clicks.

This with multiple mice(mouses) of different brands.
And also with the Rii 8 mini.

This is the same on my Ubuntu Focal on SSD(via USB2 since else I ain’t got wifi) and also with the Ubuntu Focal on my eMMC.

When I pull out the dongle for the mouse and put it back in, it is still the same.

Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix for this? Otherwise I’ve got it all working like I want it to. Greetings,

I can say it’s after a while of not using keyboard and mouse. A few minutes.
When constantly using it, it doesn’t happen. But when leaving it for a few minutes the ability to click is gone.
I’m using xfce4 on the Ubuntu Focal image. I’ve disabled all the power management tools.
No idea what causes it. Keyboard does work when mouse clicks are gone.

ssh and try getting kernel logs

I ain’t got wifi for the moment. I’m rendering a video with USB3 used for the SD-card. USB3->No wifi

When finished I’ll make it happen again with wifi on. I can also still use keyboard, so I’ll check dmesg when it happens. Didn’t think of that.

It happens every time after about 5 minutes. It also happened in the gnome desktop. Cheers

Hi Frank. I’ve tried wired mouse, wireless and Rii8Mini. With all three it’s the same.
Even when I plug them out and back in the buttons don’t work.

Indeed. No mouse button is working after about 5 minutes of inactivity. Also not the mousewheel.
Mouse pointer is still active, but no buttons. Some mouseover functions still work.

Can’t you reproduce this? I’ve had it with every install of :VIM3_Ubuntu-gnome-focal_Linux-4.9_arm64_EMMC_V0.9-20200530

A few days ago I was constantly working with the VIM3 so it didn’t happen much. But it did happen.
Yesterday I worked with multiple SBC’s, so every time I came back to the VIM3 I couldn’t use the mouse anymore. After reboot everything was fine again.

I’m leaving on a trip now, so I can’t test things anymore. I’ve got my VIM3 with me, when I find internet I’ll check here if there’s any info.

I remember seeing the same problem, with that exact firmware (v20200530), it was some bug, it was solved in later versions, can you try a newer one…
