Toneboard 1 Repair

Just checking in here it’s been 3 1/2 years the Tone 1 lasted 27 months before the magic smoke arrived. Has anyone done a successful repair? There is a brief blink from the led on applying power.

1. Could you tell me how to make this magic smoke?
2. Do you have measure tools like multimeter? If you have,you can meature if two side of this ferrite below is short to GND.
