My Khadas Mind 2 was running so hot that I sent it to TUVA in Korea for service. They reapplied the thermal paste and temperatures came down. For the first two or three months it was usable.
As of now, the performance is so bad that the machine is effectively unusable.
I play League of Legends with the Mind Graphics dock (RTX 4060 Ti) attached, and at QHD 1440p the framerate drops to 30-40 fps. Once I finish loading and get into the game it climbs to around 60-70 fps. These are numbers I never saw even on the Mind 1 running on its integrated graphics alone.
I have lost count of how many times I have reinstalled Windows, assuming some software conflict had to be the cause. It made no difference.
Docked or undocked, the temperatures are far too high. If you put a pan on top of a Mind 2 you could probably cook scrambled eggs on it.
This is too much. I am at the point where I want to sell the Mind 2 secondhand and buy a used or new Mind 1 instead.
I own both the Mind 1 and the Mind 2, and the Mind 1 is by far the better product. It is especially better as a host for the Graphics dock.
There is no way to control fan RPM on the Mind 2, and if I switch to power-saving mode in the Mind app the performance becomes laughable.
What I want is a firmware or software update for the Mind 2 that deals with the thermals properly and gives users real control.
Honestly, right now I feel like selling everything off and not buying Khadas products again.
My setup, in case it helps:
- Khadas Mind 2 (Core Ultra 7 155H) + Mind Graphics dock (RTX 4060 Ti 16GB)
- Windows 11, clean installs multiple times
- Thermal paste reapplied by authorized service (TUVA Korea)
Has anyone else seen this drop on the Mind 2 with the Graphics dock? And is there any supported way to adjust the fan curve or power limits?
