Tea - Ultraslim Hi-Res Headphone Amp for Smartphones

I was seconds away from purchasing one of these yesterday only to read this comment that the Bluetooth connection is strictly for use as DAC input (!?).

Firstly, it’s bad that none of your marketing or specification materials state this clearly.

Second, frankly this is a very silly design. Who on earth buys an audiophile DAC only to connect it to their phone via Bluetooth?! That is absolutely nonsensical when you can buy a cheaper lightning/USB-C to jack converter.

It makes far more sense to be able to connect the DAC via cable and then leverage it for either a high quality cable connection or the higher quality Bluetooth codec support to connect premium wireless headphones instead of just having the AAC support that Apple devices have.

We can debate whether there is a tangible difference AAC or AptX-HD / LDAC etc but being able to have that option is a much more desirable use case.

Hi Loulsclayton,
We are sorry that the marketing materials have caused you confusion. We will correct the information to avoid further misunderstanding. Please refer to Tea manual for a more detailed description:

Tea has two input methods, one is USB connection and the other is BT connection. As a HiFi device, USB connection is definitely better, but Bluetooth gives users more choices of usage occasions. If it is simply used as a Bluetooth transfer station, it is a bit of a waste for the product itself.
Anyway, thank you for your suggestions, and we will take your ideas into consideration when defining the product in the future. Thanks again.
