Selecting an M.2 NVMe for the VIM4

Hi all…

So I’m looking into the options with the VIM4’s M.2 capabilities… In nosing around at the options for an M.2 module I see many available that have the specs indicating the interface is PCIe Gen 3 x4 or sometimes PCIe Gen 4 x4…

If I get the latter (the PCIe Gen 4 x4), will the added speed be able to be put to use with the VIM4? I can’t seem to find anything indicating one over the other for the VIM4 – whether it is compatible or not. Perhaps I’m just missing something in reading these specs…

Yes, I realize that some modules are having issues with I/O errors … but I also realize that Khadas dev staff are hot on the trail to fix those issues …

Also – how many PCIe lanes does the VIM4 support? I think I saw it supports a single lane? Correct or incorrect?

Thanks!!

Yes, we are working on it.

Yes, it is 1 LANE.

Thank you for the clarification! I’ll probably get a local one and can try and see if it works or not and provide feedback on the other NVMe thread for you… Thx!
