The power adapter that comes with the mind is 65w. I noticed that it powers a portable monitor through the USB-C port directly (the monitor is rated at 15w). Is this a recommended setup without plugging the monitor into power separately?
More specifically, how much power can the Mind pass through? Does it use the full 65w itself or is it designed for this kind of use case to some extent? Thanks.
Different Mind models vary slightly in their USB-C power-delivery capability. The Mind 2/2S can supply up to 15 W through its USB-C port.
We do not recommend using the Mind 2/2S as a long-term power source for portable monitors:
Limited output: the port maxes out at 15 W, while many portable monitors need more, so full brightness or stable operation may not be achieved.
High system load: the unit ships with a 65 W adapter. Under full load the machine can draw the full 65 W and may even borrow power from the battery. Sustained high output raises internal temperatures and shortens component life.
In short, the port is fine for occasional or emergency use, but it is not intended for continuous monitor powering.
