Power delivery to Tone 2

Hi everyone,
I’m a bit confused about the power supply situation with the Tone 2 Maker Kit. I chose this version to save some money, but only after I made sure that it’s functionally the same as the version with the casing. I plan to design my own case.
Now, I’ve learned that the I2S USB-C port on the Tone 2 isn’t standard and requires a special cable from Khadas. When I ordered the cable, I didn’t realize it was designed to work specifically with a linear power supply. After discovering this, I searched for a linear power supply, but they’re not only quite expensive but none of them seem to have a USB-A port. Are people connecting it to power banks or something else?
I would like to supply the power to the DAC separately from the audio signal. Many reviewers and people in the online communities don’t find it necessary, but I still want to use that option. My plan is to use the special Khadas USB-C to USB-A cable to connect a 5V phone charger to the I2S port. Is that safe? And, would it be okay to use a Samsung fast phone charger for for this, or would that cause any issues?
Thanks for any guidance!

Please help this.

Hi
Yes,you can use 5V phone charger with USB A instead of linear Power, but you should use our usb cable from A to C.
But you’d better to buy a cheap linear power, such as the following picture. Beause its DC noise is lower than the phone charger.

I have the Khadas LPS/I2S USB-C to USB-A cable, and I’m currently using a standard 5V 2A phone charger. While I’m not very technically inclined, I wanted to confirm whether using this setup could potentially cause any harm to the DAC. Thank you for your guidance!

Hi,
This using can not do much harm to DAC,but may bring a little noise to DAC power, the magnitude of the noise depends on your phone charger.
