Please describe your issue below:

My current application (C++) uses:

  • Capacitive touch (usb connection).

Crosscompiling on Ubuntu

Python3 scripts also used on target.

Current Target boards are Rpi 4b (4 GB) or Rpi zero 2 w
OS: Raspian Buster

Hello Khadas Community,
looking for an alternative to RPI 4, I just discovered Khadas boards and because it seems a good design, I would like to try it.
I read that some of you already had a good experience, (some other not so good), I understand that in most case it depends on what is your technical skill and how much time you have to learn or solve problems but in other case simply it is not possible.
Can you give me some advices on make this decision (porting) ?
Options are to use VIM1 Pro or VIM1s ?
I would like to use eMMC instead of micro SD.

Thank you
CGT

The VIM3 Pro is an excellent choice, it has more RAM and larger emmc storage. With the Ubuntu 20.04 and 4.9 kernel it is a very stable platform.

2GB of ram will work, but, if you are planning on doing native builds the 4GB is a better option.

All the VIM series leave the Pi along the roadside…

Also, VIM3 PRO with an add on board you can run NVMe storage. That will get you around 500 mBs transfer rate compared to 30-50 with an SD card.

Thank you for suggestion.
VIM3 Pro would be good, maybe too much powerful (out of budget for mass production) …
