Overheating? crashing, constantly unreliable

Hello,

I really enjoyed the Mind 2 unit and it has been my favorite device in my home lab. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing ongoing issues with it shutting down unexpectedly. Because I travel often, the unit has seen only light use and is usually powered off. About two months ago, I began using it daily, and it started shutting down two or three times per week. Since then, the issue has become more frequent, to the point that it now powers off multiple times a day.

As a result, I have stopped using it and currently have it stored away. This is very disappointing, especially given the cost of the device. It appears the system may be overheating, and I have seen similar reports from other Mind 2 users online.

Could you please advise on how to restore the unit to reliable operation? I will power it on again today and see if the issue continues. I will also check the warranty status, but I would appreciate knowing what options are available if it is no longer covered. Thank you.

I am using standard windows OS that it shipped with. 
I have the Mind 2 Ultra 7 64GB+2TB
I dont have log files yet but I will try to get some , IF it powers on. 

I am using everything original, the power is the original power supply and cable, the OS is khadas os installation of windows, the mind app did run many updates periodically.

I also have the exact same random shutdown issue after upgrading to BIOS 1.07.

My setup: Original Khadas 65W PD adapter plugged directly into wall. HDMI external monitor with its own separate power supply, plus wired keyboard and mouse. No XPlay, no USB-C monitor power delivery.

The machine shuts off completely out of the blue, all lights turn off. Windows Event Viewer shows Kernel-Power Event ID 41, BugcheckCode=0, no BSOD. CPU temperature stays normal before shutdown, no overheating. This problem never existed on BIOS 1.03.

I have already tried these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Full power discharge reset (hold power button for 30s)
  2. Mind App set to Power-saving mode, Hibernate on power loss
  3. Disabled Windows Modern Standby and Fast Startup
  4. Tried removing all peripherals, and the random shutdown still happens even in idle state with nothing connected except the PD power cable.

It seems the 1.07 firmware is overly sensitive to sampling the 5.55Wh built-in standby battery. Minor voltage fluctuations trigger an immediate full power cut.

Request: Could Khadas add a BIOS option to disable the built-in standby battery voltage monitoring, or release a patched firmware to fix this aggressive power protection logic?

RMA is not convenient for me, I have no spare PC while the unit is sent back.
