Omxplayer equivalent in Ubuntu

Hey guys,

I’m excited to get my hands on a VIM1. I’m try to play video through command line under Ubuntu/Debian, with the following features:

  • HD audio passthrough over HDMI (exp. Dolby TrueHD).
  • 4K HDR decoding with HW acceleration.
  • Render directly into frame buffer, so it shows up on CLI screen.

Is there such a tool available? (an equivalent on Raspberry Pi would be OMXPlayer?)

Hi @Freezen, If you want to play 4K video, you must use KODI.the OMXPlayer is Not pre-installed on VIM1.
