Mind xPlay firmware: 1.01

Please describe your issue below:

I would like to request an Fn Lock / Function Key Mode option for the Mind xPlay.

Currently, the F1–F12 row works primarily as special-function keys such as brightness, media, and volume controls, while the standard F1–F12 keys require holding Fn.

For development work, however, the standard F1–F12 keys are used very frequently in IDEs, debuggers, file managers, and other desktop applications. Having to hold Fn every time is inconvenient.

Please add an option to use the standard F1–F12 keys directly without holding Fn, while using Fn + F1–F12 for the special functions.

For example:

  • F2 → F2

  • Fn + F2 → brightness control

  • F7 → F7

  • Fn + F7 → previous media track

Ideally, this could be implemented as:

  • a Function Key Mode option in the Mind App or BIOS, or

  • an Fn Lock shortcut such as Fn + Esc,

similar to the behavior available on many Logitech keyboards and laptops.

Hello @jaeyum

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We sincerely apologize that our current product does not yet support the feature you described. I have forwarded your request to our product team for further evaluation. It is possible that this functionality may be implemented in a future generation of the product.

A firmware-level Fn-lock toggle would make this much more flexible. Ideally it could live in the keyboard or BIOS settings with a simple default-mode choice, plus a hardware shortcut to switch modes without rebooting. A per-user setting would also help when the same xPlay is shared between development and media use. If the embedded controller already reports the Fn state, this seems like a good candidate for a small firmware update; a visible indicator or on-screen confirmathe current mode clear.
