Mind 2 BIOS v1.07 – “Auto Power On” and “Wake on WLAN and BT” options are missing

Hello Khadas Support Team,

I recently purchased a Khadas Mind 2 and would like to configure it to power on automatically when external power is restored. This is important for my use case because I plan to operate the Mind 2 remotely and control its power supply using a smart plug.

My device information is as follows:

  • Product: Khadas Mind 2
  • CPU: Ultar 7 155H
  • BIOS version: v1.07
  • Operating system: Windows 11

I entered the BIOS setup and checked the following menu:

Advanced/Chipset → PCH-IO Configuration

However, I cannot find either of these options:

  • Auto Power On
  • Wake on WLAN and BT Enable

I also checked the other BIOS pages but could not find an equivalent setting such as:

  • Restore AC Power Loss
  • AC Power Recovery
  • State After G3
  • Power On After Power Failure

I own a first-generation Khadas Mind as well, and these options are available in its BIOS. I also found a Khadas configuration guide showing the Auto Power On option under PCH-IO Configuration, but the guide appears to be specifically for the Mind 2 AI Maker Kit, rather than the standard retail version of the Mind 2.

For additional investigation, I compared the official firmware packages for the standard Mind 2 BIOS v1.07 and the Mind 2 AI Maker Kit. The standard Mind 2 v1.07 firmware image still appears to contain text resources for Auto Power On and Wake on WLAN and BT Enable, even though these options are not visible in the BIOS interface on my device. This makes me wonder whether the options are hidden by a BIOS setup condition, SKU configuration, or EC policy on the standard Mind 2.

I understand that the Mind 2 contains an internal standby battery, so simply disconnecting the external power adapter may not immediately place the system into a true G3 mechanical-off state. Nevertheless, I need the machine to start automatically after a complete shutdown or total loss of power, once external power is restored. Waking from sleep when the adapter is reconnected would not fully meet this requirement.

Could you please confirm the following?

  1. Does the standard retail version of the Mind 2 officially support automatic power-on after AC power is restored?
  2. Are Auto Power On and Wake on WLAN and BT Enable intentionally hidden in BIOS v1.07 for the standard Mind 2?
  3. Are these options available only on the Mind 2 AI Maker Kit or on certain hardware SKUs?
  4. Is there another BIOS menu, Mind App setting, or supported procedure for enabling automatic power-on on the standard Mind 2?
  5. If this feature is currently disabled, could Khadas provide a BIOS/EC update that exposes the Auto Power On option?
  6. Would downgrading to an earlier official BIOS version restore this option, or is downgrading not recommended?
  7. Please confirm that the Mind 2 AI Maker Kit BIOS must not be installed on a standard Mind 2.

I have already tried restoring the BIOS defaults, but the options are still missing. I have not attempted to install the AI Maker Kit firmware because I understand that flashing firmware intended for a different model may make the device unbootable.

Please let me know if you need photographs of the BIOS pages, the full model number, serial number, EC version, or any diagnostic information from the Mind App.
