Khadas VIM1B USB doesn't see device

Dear,

I use Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS on a VIM1B. Suddenly on a device the USB device isn’t recognized anymore. Not when I plug them in on the 2 USB ports of the board and not when the header USB’s are used.

When I connect/disconnect a device I see nothing in the journalctl or in the /dev/ folder.

Any ideas on how I can check what is going wrong? Below are some lsusb commands.

Is it possible that the USB hubs or ports are disabled?

The software will not disable the USB ports.

Have you checked whether the USB works when you do a power cycle? Do you have any unexpected short circuit to the board? And can you try to reflash the firmware to double check?

If you mean a power cycle power down and power up then yes multiple times. This doesn’t change anything.

A reflash isn’t possible.

This board has been in the field, it’s difficult to be sure there hasn’t been a short circuit. But none of the other devices show any sign of short circuit damage.

When a USB modem is used I can see the devices powers up, so the USB still gives 5V but it looks like there is no communication. Also I can see that the USB modem connects to the network so the 5V seems good. When I connect the USB modem to my computer I can communicate with the modem, so the problem isn’t in the USB modem.
