Khadas Mind Pro - PCIe bifurcation feature

Is there any chance the Khadas team could add a PCIe bifurcation feature to the BIOS ?

There are interesting adapters like this one that could enable multiple NVME drives to be added to the Khadas Mind Pro (with a custom bottom metal cover of course)

Hello @jhonny

The Mind Pro is a consumer electronics product, and this feature is not currently planned for development.

It would be great if Khadas offered an “alternate” / add-on bottom that has more NVME drives that could plug into an existing nvme slot and give you 4 x nvme slots. Many consumer devices have pice-bifurcation.

Hello @jhonny

Could you please let us know what use case requires multiple NVMe slots? I can forward your request to our product team. If your needs align with our product definition, you may see an “alternate” or add-on solution in the future.

E.g.

  1. for a portable video editing system. 4tb (2tb + 2tb) is not enough and the 2230 drives don’t have dram so they are slow.
  2. If you wanted to make it a portable gaming machine, same thing … 4tb is not enough to store your collection. E.g. if I want to take this on a plane with me and use it with VR glasses, I would want to watch a few movies, play a few games.
  3. Use it as a home NAS. Its a super low powered device with transcoding capabilities, it just doesnt have the storage capability.

P.S. Thank you for your consideration. I’m enjoying my Khadas Mind Pro very much

Also is it possible for the Khadas team to share the 3d step file for the bottom metal cover of the Mind Pro ?

Hello @jhonny

Thank you for your feedback. I will pass your suggestion along to our product team.

Regarding the 3D files for the product — these are internal company documents and unfortunately cannot be shared externally at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

No problem. Thank you for your consideration.
