You can corrupt the filesystem (software damage) but you will not break the board (hardware damage).

Are there any solutions if vim3 is installed with device that can not push shutdown button?
eg.mobile robot, drone etc…
I’m not sure how you can protect a general purpose distro image. For IoT applications I would use a more appliance-like OS and packaging; something where the core OS image is read-only and an a/b boot config so the device will always revert to a known-good boot state if the current boot fails.
