I have a Waveshare 10.1DP-CAPLCD monitor with a hardware resolution of 1280 x 800.
But this resolution is not among those available in the display properties. I tried to do the same as in the post, and I managed to add the desired resolution to the list of available ones, but when selected, the screen went blank.
