How to get advertized clockspeeds

Hi. I’m testing the Khadas Mind standard but I’m unable to get the 4.6Ghz out of the performance cores.
This when doing a single core benchmark.
I get 3.8Ghz max from performance cores. Advertized as 4.6Ghz
I get 2.7Ghz max from efficiency cores. Advertized as 3.4Ghz

Done with Armbian Noble.

Is there some bios option I can use to unlock more performance? I’ve not found any.
I know this is Intel advertizing. So don’t blame Khadas if those numbers are not correct.
Greetings, NicoD.

Hello @NicoD

We tested on windows and setup to performance mode can get about 4.0~4.10Ghz, but can’t reach 4.6Ghz.

@NicoD the system is capable of going up to 4.6GHz single core turbo, however this turbo is only possible when the CPU is allowed to use it’s MTP (maximum turbo power), which for Intel CPUs is a very small interval, several milliseconds at most so you won’t be able to observe it by regular monitoring tools

In general the system should be able to do a tad bit less than that as you have seen at 3.8GHz using PL2 power level (long duration clock boost), you can use HWinfo64 on windows to obtain this information.

Regards.

Hello @NicoD

Have you setup the cpu scaling governor to performance? On my side after setup to performance mode, it can reach 4.8GHz and 3.7GHz.

Please check:

nick@mind:~$ cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy*/scaling_governor

On my side with Mind Premium on Ubuntu 22.04, here are the testing results:

Please double check.
