It seems that file management is broken on this image. Multiple apps can not browse files and crash with said error.

I have the same issue on mine. The standard file manager is missing.

Which file manager have you installed? And from where?

No, it’s the basic system files that are missing. Installing a file manager isn’t going to fix it.
