I have an VIM3 pro board I have been using for a few years now to run a 24/7 all sky camera. Sadly it died a few weeks back. It was powered by VIN with 12v. Upon close inspection a noticed the was a short on the power, tried to inspect measure a few capacitors close vin but could not find the culprit. Than it came to me to try to use my thermal camera to spot components overheating and that works, managed to identify the shorted capacitor and it came off. After that the camera booted and I managed to recover a last backup. The board seems to be working without the capacitor, however I am aware that might not be a good idea to run it on vin without the filtering.
I tried to identify the cap from schematics, and having some difficulties to be 100% certain. It looks like it is a 10 µF, 6.3 V or 10 V, X7R, 0603 MLCC, can you please advise?
