I am interested in purchasing the Tone2 Maker Kit, but I noticed that the kit does not include the button required for operation. From my research, it seems this button is essential, as it performs multiple functions (e.g., rotating, top pressing, and side pressing). However, I couldn’t find any information about where to obtain this specific button or if it’s compatible with any generic options.
Could you please clarify:
Where I can purchase the button for the Tone2 Maker Kit?
If it is a proprietary part, is there an official source or additional accessory kit that includes it?
Are there any alternatives or specifications for compatible buttons if the official button is unavailable?
Apologies for the confusion. When I saw the picture of the board, I thought it was just the mounting point for the button. However, if the kit is fully operational as it is, that clears things up for me. Just to confirm, is there anything else I need besides the power supply? And in terms of operation, everything should be the same as the fully assembled version, correct, except for the lack of casing? Thank you!
P.S. I already emailed customer support, but didn’t receive a reply.
Yes that is correct. It is same as fully assembled version.
Depends on how you are going to use it I guess. I personally don’t connect a separate power supply. In my case it get power either from type c when I connect it to PC, or from the headers when I mount it on top of VIM boards. I use standard RCA cable that I had lying around already to connect to my speaker. It can be used in different ways
Connect to the PC, mobile device or something else via type c.
Mount on top of any of the vim boards
Mount on the bottom of vim3/3l/4 where it connects via m.2 slot. In this case, you would need the T2V connector, screws, etc.
If you want to connect to it using bluetooth, then you have to buy BT magic adapter separately
Tone 2 Maker Kit does not have a cover for the encoder. You can design a sepcial one for it if you are willing to it. Or you can also buy Tone 2 instead, we design a nice cover for it, and the functions are same.
