Hello everyone,
I’m working on a project with the RK3588 platform and am trying to determine if its Ethernet PHY chip supports hardware Precision Time Protocol (PTP) for my application’s timing requirements. From my research, I’ve seen that some RK3588 boards integrate Realtek R8125 for Ethernet, which appears to have hardware timestamping capabilities essential for PTP. However, it seems like this support might be disabled by default and could require kernel or driver modifications.
Would anyone here know:
The exact Ethernet PHY chip model used on RK3588 boards?
Whether this chip indeed supports hardware PTP out of the box or if enabling it requires any specific steps?
Any recommended kernel or driver tweaks for stable PTP performance if the Realtek R8125 is used?
Any insights from those who’ve worked with the RK3588 and PTP setup would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
