I am trying to use the VIM4 to record video from a camera (HDMI). I was hoping to use the android Camera2 API but it doesn’t register as a camera. I’ve see the posts about the LiveTV and I’ve tried building it with no success. Does anyone have a simple Android demo app of the VIM4 recording the HDMI input?

There is no such demo app.

Can you provide a photo to see your equipment? That is, after reading your description, we can’t quite understand what your real needs are, so we want to know more about your specific equipment.

I don’t have it in front of me as I’m traveling. But the use case is pretty simple. Take an HDMI signal from a camcorder (HDRCX405 or similar) and feed it into the VIM4’s HDMI input. Record the feed at specified intervals to the internal storage as an mp4 and distribute the file over the network.

@burniejm You can use the HDMI to USB cable as a USB camera.

The camera connection is straightforward. I’m interested in how to record the video signal in an android app.
