VIM3 boot medium compatibility

Hi guys,
I have some questions to clarify, regarding VIM3 hardware…

  1. Is the SD/TF card slot on the VIM3 compatible with MMC cards ?
I know it supports the wide range of SDSC/HC/XC TF cards, but what about MMC cards, on the A311D datasheet it says it supports storage medium such as SD/TF card, SPI, NAND flash and eMMC (which is already occupied), this one is a burning question…

  2. does the USB-C OTG port support linux booting ?
if a USB-C pendrive is connected to the USB-C port containing a SD/USB linux image on it boot?, assuming we can provide proper power of 5v via VIN port…

let these ones get answered, I have a few follow up questions based on the answers provided for the above question…

Any answer regarding these questions are welcome, I additionally ask for support from the Khadas team…

Thank you

Idk what you mean by MMC card, isn’t sdsc/hx/xc mmc cards already?

No currently it is only been used as power input as I tried with usb c dock and it looks like there is no drivers for it in the kernel so I doubt there is any driver for the same in uboot.

Maybe you can help khadas team with writing usb-c driver for uboot and kernel.

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies,

I was thinking of something like this…

Yes it is the same thing as micro sd card.
I does work on it. I do most of my test image on it.

Good luck
