Hi!
I bought Tone2 Pro, this is my first DAC :slight_smile:
But I still hadn’t listened to music through it
I am a beginner at working on a computer and I have difficulties.
It is not clear to me:

  1. What do I need to install on my Windows PC first. USB Driver or DFU Tool?

  2. Does Tone2 Pro have to be connected to the PC at all times during the installation of the DFU Tool / USB Driver? Or do I connect it after installation?

  3. When it comes to installing the USB Driver (which depends on question number 1) will the download of Tone2 USB Driver disrupt my already installed Audio drivers in the Windows operating system?

Please help me how to install Tone2 USB Driver, I have never installed additional drivers and the procedure itself is unknown to me, I am a beginner on the computer and I would like my experience with the already purchased Tone2 Pro to be the most beautiful and enjoyable possible :slight_smile:

just like you the Tone2 is my first DAC, I have gotten to know it a bit so let you walk you along some of your questions:

first install the USB driver, then the DFU tool, after you can ensure that the Tone2 is up and running, go ahead and procced to update the firmware of the Tone2 using the DFU tool,

(choose the “latest” driver and DFU tool)

Does Tone2 Pro have to be connected to the PC at all times during the installation of the DFU Tool / USB Driver? Or do I connect it after installation?

not necessary, just connect the Tone2pro whenever you are going to do the DFU procedure

that won’t be affected, there is only one driver needed, nothing else required (if you have any old Tone drivers you can uninstall them)

its a very simple procedure, just extract the .zip and execute the program, its very simple and straight forward, and all you have to do is click and wait for it to be installed
