Hi there guys and girls, one more rom/fw for you all!
Many thks to Khadas for sending me the device to play
And many thks to @Robert for be my beta tester :wink:
Ok guys im going to write the max i remember i did on sdk… i can’t remember all of it!
Build from Latest source.
Debug Build ( i might do in the future a rls build with my own keys )
I also added my layout(in zip format in internal storage) for squarehome3, is not hard to import it, i will make a video on how to do it in the next days… or just search youtube i bet there is something explaining it!

READ RECOMMENDATIONS BELLOW!!!

IF YOU HAVE TO MANY ISSUES IN THE BUILD AFTER FLASH EVEN IF THE FLASH WENT OK, JUST REFLASH AGAIN THE IMG BECAUSE YOU GOT A BAD FLASH EVEN IF IT SAID IT WAS OK.

Changelog v5

  • Merge latest change from tree
  • Added a white box to show actual screen size when resizing the screen!
  • Did some audio passthrough changes/fixes!
  • Fixed dual-boot it was broken, now coreelec/others boots fine from sdcard.
  • Added mpeg-L2 audio support (i did not test so… it might work or not)
  • Removed dovi! (not working due to be locked to certain chips)
  • SD to HDR disabled by default now!
  • Enabled again deep sleep!
  • Some cleaning etc…

Recommendations:

  • I do recommend if you guys have issues playing some Dolby Digital audio, to go to “settings->Device Preferences->Sound”, and in there in “Select formats” set it to “Manual:Select which formats to use”, and them just manually enable all formats.
  • This is because there is an few issues how the sdk detects the formats being used in some videos with Dolby Digital audio, remember this will not mean you will have DTS-HD support or even Dolby Atmos, since the required libs are not there to have that support!
  • I also recommend on both builds to disable the “DNR” and also play with the “Picture Mode”, for that go to “settings->Advanced Settings->Picture”.

  • Of course there is bugs… there always be bugs…

Hi @superceleron .
Is it possible to add gps support in the rom?
I’m on a project and VIM3L is great for it, but I need GPS support. I will use a GPS via bluetooth or USB but when I go to the “location” setting it is only possible to set the location via Wi-Fi.

To late at this moment, anyway you can use in the next build the drop down menu, the one you pull from top to turn it on…
The side settings does not have it because it was made to androidtv and as you know ATV does not need GPS :stuck_out_tongue: :wink:

Thanks. I have been researching in forums and I have discovered the" gps tether" app, and I think the problem has been solved with it. I have to test it more.

The Link is wrong, there are “VIM3L DEBUG” and “VIM3 DEBUG”, but no “VIM3L USER”, please correct that, thanks

How I change the boot image? Could you use this gif?

it needs to be in min. 720p and in portrait mode or else it will look very bad!

Does it support the TS050 touchscreen by Khadas? I reflashed the ROM twice and each time the screen goes out after the Khadas logo

The screen works, but only one. HDMI monitor does not show.
