I2S Input options

@numbqq For the images, I tried almost all. The only ones I managed to download fully, consistently, were Fedora, Coreelec, Android lastest and the Volomio test image worked for download, but did some funky things at boot with video (was connected to 22" touch screen at the time) and instantly froze at GUI setup. I posted a rant on the AE messaging system, before I got politely asked to come here :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Pretty much, I spent over 10 hours until 2am, then another 2 when I awoke at 6am, then I impulsively sent the items back for RMA. I still haven’t repurchased another sbc. I am still kinda hooked on what this sbc and tone2 are capable of. I let a bad first experience color my perceptions of the product.

I read here that Volumio support had ceased for Khadas: Volumio 3 on Khadas devices - #4 by DaveJ - Khadas - Volumio Community

I am only limited to WIFI hotspot from my phone too, no wired connection. But downloads failed at same point for at least 3 images, less than 200mb and fail. If you can read AE messages, there’s some screenshots there

Hi Nick, you gone and made me log into AE on a Windows sbc. I need Linux. But here is a few things I copied across…

I will be returning this entire order for RMA, my experience with VIM3 has been absolutely awful. I can’t even get to using the tone board, as the only OS that will install through OOWOW is Coreelec and I have no use for Kodi. Fedora downloads but freezes after Grub, no GUI. Other Ubuntu images either refuse to download or error as ‘broken xz img’ on installing. I have tried cables, power supplies and 9 hours of wasting my time attempting to get this SBC to function. Advertised as a HTPC, the VIM3 struggles as a paperweight. Not impressed at all.

Thanks for visiting Khadas AliExpress Official Shop! Here are some helpful links: 1. Technical Support: https://forum.khadas.com

I have removed all hardware extensions, factory reset, re-download Fedora image and install to SD ok, write to EMMC ok, but wont boot, without SD inserted. Change boot to MMC, VIM3 powers off, blue LED, wont turn on. Insert SD, turns on, white LED.

So you can’t use oowow to install the images? Use oowow do download the image failed?

I just checked on my side use oowow to install latest ubuntu image and it works.

Maybe it is a issue of you network? Have you checked with other network?

And you can also choose to install the image whit the USB flash tool.

Here are some screen shots of variour errors.

after I RMA’d the products, I did some more searching and did come across a Pi and Libre Computer site saying that network quality is a must. It may well be my internet? But I did monitor that, the images that did download, Fedora took about 260 seconds, but did fail on the install boot. Coreelec worked just fine, so to Android. I also swapped out Sd cards and power supplies, but same issues.

For my stereo solution, I am just wanting a streamer that has balanced outputs and the Khadas was the best review I saw, even better than the SMSL D6 I currently use with LG V30 phone USB input. Help me support what looks like a great product and stop me following the sheeple down the raspberry pi route.

In this case, we suggest you to install the image whit the USB flash tool.

Hi Kenny, thank you for your reply. Yes, I am find this manual, but I am don’t find same pins on my Luckfox, it is little different

Hi ALEX-KIR,
me to, not see the I2S interface at Luckfox Pico Max

I check the schematic, found it at GPIO2_A. It seems that you might need to check whether the I2S pins are all exposed and not being used for other purposes. You might also need to configure the driver code.
