How to use the bit-clock build in the Dac instead of Raspberry Pi's clock?

Since the Khadas Tone Board has a build in bit-clock will this one be superior to the Raspberry Pi’s bit-clock? Will the data transfer thru both clocks or only one clock, and if so: which one? is there anybody who might help me with this matter, I have been searching the web for quite a long time but can’t find any logical answers anywhere!! :frowning:

I’m not an audio engineer, but according to this article, the bit-clock is used to synchronise the transmission of audio signals on the same board:

Therefore, Im guessing that if the Rpi is connected to the Tone Board, then the Tone DAC’s bit-clock will take over; the Rpi merely needs to send the audio file as binary data (which does not need to be in sync) to the DAC.
