Edge + captain + TS050

Hi!
I’ve bought Khadas Edge and captain and I want to connect TS050 screen to it.
I’ve installed Edge_Ubuntu-xfce-bionic_Linux-5.5-rc2_arm64_EMMC_V0.8.3-20200110.img on it.
I’ve tried to edit /boot/env.txt to enable the mipi display, but it has no effect (well, when I’ve edited fan mode it did, but not for the screen)
Do I need to edit the device tree? I’ve tried it once and the board stopped loading. But If it’s the only way I wlli try again.

If you have HDMI connected, try it with HDMI disconnected.

Yes, I’ve tried with the HDMI disconnected. Did not work either.

There are missing files in the mainline kernel that doesn’t allow the functioning of the TS050 screen, only compatible with 4.9 kernel

Hi, thank you, I’ve installed: Edge_Ubuntu-lxde-bionic_Linux-4.4_arm64_EMMC_V20190830, after setting true in /boot/env.txt it works!
Well, sorta. The TS050 has horrible backlight flicker.
I have 3 more questions:

  1. Are there any plans to upstream “those missing files” to mainline kernel?
  2. How to enable touchscreen?
  3. What can I do about that backlight flicker?

Those questions are beyond my scope of experience,
try asking those questions to some one who has the Edge + captain + TS050,
try asking @Terry or @numbqq from khadas themselves
