Are there any generic aarch64 distros, that are not specifically tweaked for the VIM4, that work?

I have been a bit disappointed that that I can only get the Fenix Ubuntu distro to work while there seem to be many distoros for the VIM3 and Edge2. Recently when I was messing around in the OOWOW setting and checked for new scripts I saw a script for manjaro, but the script errored out and I could not get it to work.

I’m pretty sure that I’m doing something wrong but I don’t know what that is. I suspect there is something wrong with the boot process and that it has to do with the firmware and u-boot and other voodoo that is needed to properly boot the board.

Can anyone point me to a guide that explains the boot process and step by step instructions for simpletons like me so I can install Manjaro, which I like alot more than Ubuntu.

ps. a guide to boot or atleast run the OS from a SSD would be awesome.

Its been a while since working with VIM4, if memory is correct. Just burn the image on the NVMe drive using a USB/NVMe adapter. Then connect NVMe to the VIM4.
