Android device not getting properly recognized

Hello Guys,
I have found out this weird thing that, every time I login to my VIM with a google, I get a notification that I have logged into a OnePlus 6 Phone, at first I thought it was a joke my friends were playing, but even a few minutes ago when I logged on after a firmware update I am getting the same notifications,

what is happening :upside_down_face:

What OS/version does this happen on?

You will find that line in the build.prop file, under device fingerprint. I think this used to be used for spoofing for app compatibility or other.

Literally every Android ROM,
If it is done for compatibility then it’s ok, I was super confused, because no one in my home has a one plus device, and I thought some guy with a one plus phone got my account

Glad it was a false alarm. It is good to have a suspicious nature.
I recall reading mo123 and his fingerprint comments as it applies to an Edge ROM.

I can neither confirm, nor deny that rumor. :astonished:

Oh, Then that’s even more shady

It only sounds that way.

Is this spoofing, not illegal or something

Beats me, I’m not a lawyer. Laws vary. This will, henceforth, serve as my disclaimer.

Ok, thanks for the info, you saved me from the Heartattack of thinking my Account was hijacked
