768 Khz distortion

Decided to move from the khadas tone board with this issue. Just got the toneboard from China, very pleased with the sound quality. I wanted to try the highest possible samplingrate only to experience a lot of distortion. tried both foobar2000 and Rpi3+PiCore player to no avail. Set to highest buffersize do not help. My board came with firmware v6.F2. What to do.

Hi @UffeSW, sorry to hear about your issue.

Could you PM me, or email youjun@khadas.com some audio files you used on foobar2000?

I will attempt to replicate your issue on Windows 10, foobar2000, with the Generic Tone Board.

Warmly,
You Jun

Io stesso problema…

Hi @UffeSW, according to our engineer, 768 khz is not supported. The highest supported sampling rate is 384 khz.

Suggest you update this page then? https://www.khadas.com/tone-specs
As it currently states Sampling Frequency : PCM: Up to 768KHz @ 32bit, DSD: Up to DSD256 @ 1bit

You’re right, I’ll need to discuss with the team on why 768KHz is in the spec.

Thank you for pointing that out.

Perhaps also future versions of the driver would not advertise unsupported sampling rates as selectable?

@PaulCoddington we’re discussing this matter with the supplier as well. Thank you for your patience.

This is getting more and more strange, over at the Volumio messageboard a user tried 768 khz and 32 bit with no problems???
