I wish that were my case, but I am a long time user of 2.4GHz WiFi, and its what has served me best, and anyway, " If it aināt broke, donāt fix it"
so Iād like to know and have the ability to use something which I have the privilege and support for. hence I need it,
I am not opposed to having WiFi 6 in the future etc. but for now I do not will to upgrade my supporting hardware
I will advise you then to work on LAN, if this is really a problem for you, since you donāt want to lose such a high-quality port like usb 3.0 on vim!
Very nice improvements. The VIN 12v/5v upgrade will spare many headaches.
āSeparate USB-C and VIN power supplies: When the USB-C port is connected to a computer and 12V is supplied via the VIN port, the computerās USB-hub or motherboard could become damaged. A power-rerouting IC has been added, this IC separates the USB-C and VIN power supplies preventing the 12V power supply from damaging your computer.ā
@karmantyu if it says v13 on the device, its definitely v13, no worries, you could even see the device physically to see the changes in some of the components, around the M2X mounting points for example.
stay safe && good day!
Its probably just not checking the hardware yet on the VIM3, or maybe the latest Krescue version should have shown the version difference (@hyphop can quote on this)
You may want to look as seen here, I think only the MCU is reporting v12 even on V13.
Also, check the Khadas Blog for the differences. Then you can confirm version 13, as some physical differences exist.
Hopefully that will ease your concerns.
